Leonard Bus Sales Goes Above and Beyond, Offering Sound Advice for Eden Central Schools District

Eden Central School District’s school board saw firsthand what that means at a recent meeting discussing their current fleet.

The school district is currently considering what to do as its aging bus fleet and the lack of any new buses in recent years takes a toll on the district’s transportation efficiency. The school’s options include leasing, lease-to-buy and out-right buying. A representative of the school’s drivers spoke about the sacrifices drivers have made to make sure students were not impacted by the deteriorating fleet, and lamented what certain options would mean to drivers and students.

Leonard Bus Sales’ Dave Rindo, invited to make a presentation to the board, went above and beyond offering sound advice about the benefits of fleet rotation and a solution that could help drivers and students alike.

“I used the opportunity to share what we know about the efficiency and safety benefits of fleet management,” said Dave. “I showed the board that if they commit to a long-term plan, one that puts about 3 news buses a year into service over a 10-year rotation, their fleet efficiency would benefit tremendously, and it would be at a cost that the district can plan for over the long term and absorb better than constantly dealing with a fleet in crisis every few years.”

The board meets again soon to discuss further, but Dave’s advice was noticed by the local media present and by his colleagues at Leonard Bus Sales.
