July 16, 2015, Colonie, N.Y. – Representatives from Leonard Bus Sales were on hand as school district personnel from across New York State descended on Colonie for the annual New York Association of Pupil Transportation summer conference.
The event, held at the Marriott on Wolf Road in Colonie from July 13-15, featured a trade show on July 14th, where school district representatives were able to learn more about Leonard Bus Sales and the company’s 50 years serving as a partner and trusted advisor to the school bus industry. Attendees also learned more about the company’s parts and service for all make and model school buses, and an exciting new student-focused scholarship program – the Leonard Family Scholarship.
“We always enjoy attending the NYAPT gathering and look forward to the chance to speak with so many school district representatives about our commitment to safe, reliable and efficient pupil transportation,” said Leonard Bus Sales’ Director of Sales Frank Continetti. “We pride ourselves on being a trusted advisor to our school district partners. This conference lets other school district personnel see more specifically what that means.”
Leonard Bus Sales has long supported and participated in the annual NYAPT conference. The gathering’s theme this year was “Moving Our Kids Toward Success,” and the company made a special announcement coinciding with that theme. Showing its dedication to family and education, Leonard Bus Sales introduced the Leonard Family Scholarship, open to the children of NYAPT members attending college or technical schools.
“We wanted to show our commitment to this organization and its mission supporting education,” said Leonard Bus Sales CEO Mike Leonard. “We couldn’t think of a better way to do it than to support a student’s higher education.”
The scholarship is designed to promote success after high school, with preference given to students pursuing careers in diesel and automotive mechanics, and those with financial need. Recipients of the scholarship will receive one-time funds sent directly to their college or technical school. The program is set to begin in 2016.
