Leonard Bus Sales created A Day in the Life of a School Bus Art Competition to inspire and recognize young artists in high schools across New York State.

The art competition requires participating juniors and seniors to artistically depict a day in the life of a school bus and select either an IC Bus, Trans Tech Bus, or GreenPower school bus as the subject.

Winners receive a one-time $1,000 educational scholarship and have their submission transformed into a professional quality print and distributed to school transportation departments across the state.

Day in the Life Art Contest inspired by: Richard Price

The “Day in the Life of a School Bus” contest was inspired by long-time Leonard family friend, and acclaimed watercolor artists, the late Richard Price whose iconic watercolors of school buses embody the Leonard Bus Sales mission to provide and support the safest and most efficient school buses possible.

Price’s work depicted the beauty in the common aspects of our daily lives that too often go unnoticed and unacknowledged. The Day in the Life of a School Bus art contest’s purpose is to encourage that kind of awareness in our future leaders and provide financial assistance to help them pursue their educational goals.
