New York Customer Advisory Panel Meets in Fayetteville: Strengthening Partnerships between IC Bus, School Districts, and Leonard Bus Sales

November 13, 2013, Fayetteville, NY – The Leonard Bus Sales team joined with representatives from IC Bus, Navistar and school transportation officials from across the state for the latest New York School Bus Customer Advisory Panel November 6th and 7th at the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville.

Key points of the roundtable discussion included finding solutions to student transportation challenges in fiscally challenging times, increasing clean-diesel options with the recent addition of the Cummins ISB 6.7 engine by IC Bus, the latest from New York’s only school bus manufacturer – Trans Tech, and the continued commitment of Leonard Bus Sales to putting its school district partners first.

“Furthering and strengthening our relationships between Leonard Bus Sales, our bus manufacturers, and the school districts we serve from across the state is what this is all about,” said Leonard Bus Sales Director of Sales Frank Continetti.  “It’s a win-win for all attendees; and, most importantly, going forward, Leonard Bus Sales will be even better at meeting the needs of our school district partners.”

The biannual New York Customer Advisory Panels, organized by Leonard Bus Sales and IC Bus, give school district transportation professionals ongoing opportunities to interact directly with the experts, engineers, and technicians who manufacture, distribute, and service the school buses.

The districts represented at the meeting included Churchville-Chili Central School District, Grand Island Central School District, Shenendehowa Central School District, South Jefferson Central School District, Pembroke Central School District, Brockport Central School District, Lancaster Central School District, Guilderland Central School District, and Massena Central School District.

Attendees discussed the benefits of clean-diesel technologies and the fact that Leonard Bus Sales now offers the broadest line-up of clean diesel school buses in the industry, among other topics.

My board of education comes to me with questions that I can’t always answer, so when I can get those questions answered it builds confidence in our community,” said Donna Hackett, Transportation Supervisor for Pembroke Central School District.  “Leonard Bus Sales listens to us when we have suggestions; the explanations are always there, the time is there, and you’re never brushed off to the side.”

“I couldn’t be more pleased; there’s no doubt, these Customer Advisory Panels continue to be a real asset for all the participants,” said company President Mike Leonard.  “Not only that, they help Leonard Bus Sales maintain our commitment to go above and beyond for our school district partners.”
