Leonard Bus Sales Again Congratulates Technicians and Service Managers for Strong Safety Record

October 11, 2013, Deposit, N.Y. – It’s something everyone at Leonard Bus Sales takes special pride in: safety at the company’s service facilities across the state. In recent weeks, that was the reason to gather and celebrate again, as the technicians and managers at Leonard Bus Sales Saratoga held a safety luncheon marking their facility’s 6th consecutive quarter without a lost-time incident – that’s over 550 days.

To promote the company’s active safety program, Leonard Bus Sales hosts safety gatherings like this whenever a facility reaches another 90 day milestone without a lost time mishap.

“These gatherings bring everyone together for a well-earned lunch and serve as a good reminder of all the safety practices we follow every day,” said Luke Caruso, the lead technician at the LBS Saratoga facility. “Safety lunches are always much appreciated by all.”

Safety luncheons have become a common occurrence across the company in recent years.  Leading the facility safety record count, with the most consecutive days without an incident, is the Leonard Bus Sales facility in Rome, with over 1150 days without an incident.  The Deposit facility staff is not far behind, recently breaking the 1000 day mark.   The rest of the facilities, with their current safety mark, are:  Brushton, with over 640 days without an incident; Saratoga with over 550; Bergen with over 240; and the new facility in Garden City Park with more than 215.

“Ensuring the safety of our buses and our employees is the most important thing we do,” said Leonard Bus Sales President Mike Leonard. “That’s why we focus on safety as a rule, why we talk about it, and why we celebrate it.  It gives me great pride when we get to host another facility safety luncheon.  It means we are doing our jobs and we are doing it right.”
