NYAPT Trade Show - 2004

The New York Association of Pupil Transportation trade show was held July 12th & 13th at the Holiday Inn Turf in Albany and was a huge success!

At the opening of the trade show Mike Leonard announced that a special guest would be joining the LBS team at their booths for the afternoon. As a shiny new 2005 IC CE pulled around the corner, Mike announced some accomplishments of the NASCAR racing legend that was on board. When the door opened Bobby Allison stepped down, along with his wife Judy, to a welcoming crowd of race fans. The 1983 Winston Cup Series Champion has 85 career NASCAR victories including 3 Daytona 500 wins and is the recipient of six NASCAR Most Popular Driver Awards; he is one of the most respected names in racing and it was an honor to have him at the show. Bobby signed autographs all afternoon and many people bought his new book, A Racer’s Racer.

Monday night continued with a NASCAR themed cocktail reception and gala dinner dance sponsored by Leonard Bus Sales, Truck King, IC Corporation and International Truck & Engine. Mike Leonard and the President of IC Corporation, Bob Whitehouse, expressed their thanks to the members of NYAPT and all who helped to make the show possible. They gave way to Bobby Allison, who entertained the crowd with some racing stories. The entertainment continued as the band began to play and the dance floor filled. All nine members of The New York Players sang, danced, and played into the night and kept the party going.

At 8 AM on Tuesday morning, the trade show re-opened to allow everyone one more chance to chat with vendors one-on-one. It ended with the Leonard Bus raffle and winners received many prizes, from a Tulsa trip to an IC putter.

The Leonard Bus Sales Team had a wonderful time talking with old friends and meeting new ones, and we hope to see everyone again next year!
