LBS Participates in Job Shadow Pilot Project

Byron-Bergen Career & Technical students got a jump on the job market during their February recess. Sixty students participated in a workshop with the Genesee County Economic Development Center and the Genesee County Career Center. They got tips on what high school students can do to be well positioned for good jobs both now and in the future, discussed services available within Genesee County for those seeking jobs, and talked about what the county is doing to attract more employers to the area. Then each student participated in a job shadow placement directly related to his or her studies at the BOCES. Eight students did a job shadow at Leonard Bus Sales’ Bergen facility, spending time in the service department. We hope the program was a success, and look forward to participating again in the future.
